What is liposuction?
Liposuction (lipoplasty, fat removal) is a surgical procedure for the targeted removal of local fat deposits. The tumescent technique is today's standard of modern liposuction.

Liposuction techniques at a glance
Tumescent technique
Large-volume infiltration of a vasoconstrictive solution prior to aspiration. Gold standard in modern liposuction.
Wet technique
Smaller infiltration volumes. Infiltrate-to-aspirate ratio 1:1. Frequently combined with general anesthesia.
Super-wet technique
Larger infiltration volumes than the wet technique, but smaller than the tumescent technique.
Dry technique
Historical method without pre-infiltration. Largely abandoned today due to higher bleeding rates.
PAL (Power Assisted Liposuction)
Mechanically vibrated cannula releases fat tissue more gently. Ideal for fibrous areas and large-volume procedures.

Gynecomastia
Liposuction for the treatment of pseudogynecomastia in men, often combined with glandular resection.
Lipedema
Surgical treatment of painful lipedema by gentle tumescent liposuction.
Large-volume liposuction
Large-volume procedures require heightened safety standards.
Revision liposuction
Correction of irregularities after previous procedures. PAL systems preferred.
